Description

The gods of Mesoamerica are fighting over the souls and sacrifices of humanity, and their quarrel could end the world. After losing his sister, a young boy named Izel is drawn into a wager between powerful deities: if he can close five obsidian gates to the underworld, mankind may survive. With a demanding jaguar companion and unlikely allies from distant cities, Izel travels through a land of ancient temples, restless spirits and dangerous secrets, learning that saving humanity may mean challenging the gods who chose him.
