NORMAL OPERATION
Incremental updates
Media Release updates are acknowledged quickly and coalesced so large Shopify edit bursts do not trigger thousands of competing catalog publications. A lightweight safety reconciliation also repairs anything missed after the burst settles. Anonymous Collection and Wanted popularity totals are updated as members change their lists; the rebuild control below can reconcile those totals from customer saved lists.
FULL BUILD
Initialization and repair
Full rebuilds use Shopify’s asynchronous bulk export so thousands of releases can be read without a long chain of throttled page requests. The current readable generation remains live, and the replacement is promoted only after the complete export is validated.
PRIVACY
Private data access
Check whether account, message, moderation, and submission records are hidden from Shopify's public Storefront API. This check reads settings and does not change them.
Turn off unused Storefront API access on the flagged private definitions in Shopify Admin. For Collection and Wanted customer metafields, keep Customer Account API access set to Read and write so members can use their own lists. Storefront customer reads still require customer authentication; this flag alone does not show that another member can read a private list.
The public_library preference can be stored without a definition through the Admin API. A missing definition alone does not mean it is public. Keep Media Release public; this check excludes it. Unverified entries need a manual check or the app's existing read permissions reviewed.
HOW IT BEHAVES
Customer-facing guarantees
Searches and filters read a validated Hydrogen/Oxygen generation. Cold deployments restore from durable Shopify storage, ACTIVE automatically falls back to PREVIOUS if needed, and public requests never start a full rebuild.
